Messages disappeared from inbox

Since there is only one BlueLight Email system and two different ways to access it, sometimes messages can be deleted or moved without realizing that action affects the messages on both Email on the Web and your BlueLight Internet Software.

When you access your email using the BlueLight software / dedicated email application, messages are automatically removed from your Email on the Web Inbox and are stored on your computer's hard drive. As a result, it will no longer be possible to access those email messages that have been downloaded from any other computer. When you access your messages with Email on the Web, you will only receive the email that hasn't yet been downloaded with the BlueLight software.

If you delete any messages from your Inbox while using Email on the Web or place them in a folder, other than the Inbox, on the Email on the Web system, those messages will not be downloaded the next time you check email using the BlueLight software. All mail left in Email on the Web folders will remain there permanently, as long as all your stored mail does not take up more than the allotted amount of storage.

It is possible that the Email messages have been downloaded into the Email application that you use. When you perform a Send/Receive operation using your email software, the messages are automatically removed from the BlueLight servers by default, which means they are not accessible through Email on the Web. These messages are only available in the email client that you have used to receive mail. As a result, it will no longer be possible to access those messages from any other computer.

If you do not wish to have your mails removed from the BlueLight servers, you can check the Leave Email on the Server option in your email program. This setting overrides your deletion and still keeps a copy on the server. However, please be aware that it continues to occupy space that a new email could be using. Eventually, your unseen email will fill your allotment storage space and your mailbox will not accept any more mail.
