I cannot receive mail.

Try the following troubleshooting steps if you're having trouble receiving emails:

  1. Are you logged on?
  2. Double-check to be sure you are currently connected to the Internet before trying to receive your emails by trying to open a Web page.

  3. Try to Receive messages


    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click on Tools, point to Send and Receive, an select Send/Receive All

    If there's a problem with receiving mail, you will see an error message. If you need to provide your Account Name and Password, you will be prompted.

  4. Configure your Account settings
  5. Be sure you've configured your account to remember your account name and password.

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click on Toolsand select Email Accounts.
    3. Choose View or change existing email accounts and then click Next.
    4. Select your BlueLight Internet account, and click on Change.
    5. Re-enter your BlueLight Internet Account name and Password under Logon Information.
    6. Be sure the box next to Remember password is checked.
    7. Click Next then Finish to save the settings.

    Try receiving your mail again.

  6. Check your POP and SMTP settings.
  7. Be sure your POP and SMTP settings are correct for your BlueLight Internet account:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click on Toolsand select Email Accounts.
    3. Choose View or change existing email accounts and then click Next.
    4. Select your BlueLight Internet account, and click on Change.
    5. Confirm that your POP and SMTP settings are correct. If not, change them.
    6. Click Next then Finish to save the settings.

    POP: pop.mybluelight.com
    SMTP: authsmtp.mybluelight.com
    Try receiving your mail again.

  8. Change your mail server timeout settings
  9. Sometimes your mail server will timeout before it can connect to BlueLight Internet to download your messages. To change this setting:

    1. Open Outlook.
    2. Click on Toolsand select Email Accounts.
    3. Choose View or change existing email accounts and then click Next.
    4. Select your BlueLight Internet account, and click on Change.
    5. Click on the Advanced tab, and change the Server Timeouts setting by sliding the bar to the right. You can choose up to 10 minutes.
    6. Click OK, then Next, then Finish to save the settings.

    Try and receive mail again.
