Installing Norton 360™ Online

You'll need a copy of the Norton 360™ Online software and your activation PIN before you install. We recommend that you install the software from a CD-ROM. If you don't have a CD, please click here to order one at no additional cost.

Note: Before you install Norton 360™ Online, be sure your computer meets the system requirements:

Operating Systems:
  • Microsoft® Windows® XP (32-bit) Home/Professional/Tablet PC/Media Center (32-bit) with Service Pack 2 or later
  • Microsoft Windows Vista® (32-bit and 64-bit) Starter/Home Basic/Home Premium/Business/Ultimate with Service Pack 1 or later
  • Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit) Starter/Home Basic/Home Premium/Professional/Ultimate
  • Microsoft Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro (32-bit and 64-bit)
Minimum Hardware Requirements:
  • 300 MHz for Microsoft Windows XP, 1 GHz for Microsoft Windows Vista/Microsoft Windows 7/Windows 8
  • 256 MB of RAM
  • 300 MB of available hard disk space
  • CD-ROM or DVD drive (if not installing via electronic download)

Installing Norton 360™ Online:
  1. Remove any other antivirus or firewall programs you may have on your computer:

    2. Windows Xp /Vista / 7:

    1. Click the Windows Start button and then click Control Panel.
    2. Click on Add/Remove programs. [In Windows Vista or Windows 7, click Uninstall a Program.]
    3. Click any other antivirus or firewall program that you want to remove, and then click Remove or Uninstall.
    4. Click Remove All to confirm that you want to uninstall the product.
    5. Click Restart Windows Now (Recommended), and then click Finish.

    Windows 8:

    1. Press the Winkey and C simultaneously to go to Charms bar.
    2. Select the Settings charm from the Charms bar.
    3. Click on Control panel.
    4. Click on Programs and select Programs and Features.
    5. Click any other antivirus or firewall program that you want to remove, and then click on Uninstall/Change.
    6. Click Remove All to confirm that you want to uninstall the product.
    7. Click Restart Windows Now (Recommended), and then click Finish
  2. Insert the Norton 360™ Online CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive and follow the on-screen instructions (if you are installing from a download, double-click the file you downloaded to begin the installation process).
  3. Click the Activate Now button.
  4. Type in your PIN, and then click Activate.
