How do I set up my modem automatically in Juno 1.49 or 2.0?

If you have installed a new modem, or if you just installed Juno, you can have Juno set up your modem automatically.

If you have an external modem, make sure it is turned on, plugged into the phone jack, and securely connected to your computer. An internal modem will turn on automatically when you turn on your computer.

To set up your modem automatically in Juno 1.49 or 2.0:

  1. In Juno 1.49, go to the Options menu and select Modem configuration.
In Juno 2.0, go to the Connection menu and select Modem Setup.
  2. On the Modem Setup screen, click Automatic Modem Setup. Juno will start comparing your modem to the modems in Juno's modem database. When Juno successfully identifies your modem, a message will appear. Click OK.
  3. If Juno cannot identify your modem exactly, the Modem Selection window will appear. Select your modem from the list and click OK. When Juno successfully identifies your modem, a message will appear. Click OK.
  4. If your modem is not on the list, click All Modems to see all the modems in Juno's modem database.
  5. On the Select from Full Modem Database screen, select your modem from the list and click OK. When Juno successfully identifies your modem, a message will appear. Click OK.
  6. If your modem is also not in this list, you will need to add your modem to Juno's modem database.

If you are using Juno version 1.49 or earlier, please keep in mind that Juno no longer supports the version you are currently using. If you would like to upgrade your Juno software, you can download the latest version for free by going to http://www.mybluelight.com/s/download

To get a copy of the Juno CD-ROM in the mail, call us toll-free at 1-800-654-5866. Please note, there is a one-time $10.00 processing fee for the CD-ROM that includes shipping and handling.
