After I get or send mail, my modem will not disconnect.

If your modem does not hang up properly after you get or send mail, and you are using an early version of Juno (such as 1.49 or 2.0), please upgrade to our most recent version to fix this problem.


To determine which version of Juno is installed on your computer:

  1. Open Juno
  2. Go to the Help menu and select About Juno.
  3. The version of Juno currently installed on your computer will be displayed at the top of the About Juno window that appears.

If you would like to upgrade your Juno software, you can download the latest version for free by going to http://www.mybluelight.com/s/download

To get a copy of the Juno CD-ROM in the mail, call us toll-free at 1-800-654-5866. Please note, there is a one-time $10.00 processing fee for the CD-ROM that includes shipping and handling.


If you already have a recent version of Juno, it is possible that your modem's initialization string does not contain a hang-up command that the modem recognizes. You may need to reconfigure your modem in order to get your modem to disconnect after you transmit your Juno email.

If Juno did not correctly set up your modem automatically, try to set it up manually by going to the Options/Connection menu and selecting Manual Modem Set-Up. Select the name of your modem from the list of modems that appears.
