My browser's address bar disappeared. How do I get it back?

The address bar displays the Web site address for the Web page you are currently viewing. If you know the Web site address for a Web page, you can type the address in the address bar box and then click Go. If your address bar is missing, you can easily get it back.

To show your address bar in Internet Explorer:

In order to return the browser's address bar, you will need to open Internet Explorer from your computer. To do this, either double-click on the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop, or find the program by clicking the Windows Start button and choosing All Programs.

Once you've launched Internet Explorer:

  • Go to the View menu, point to Toolbars, and click Address Bar.

To show your address bar in Netscape 4.x:

  • Go to the View menu and select Show Location Toolbar.

To show your address bar in Netscape 7.x:

  • Go to the View menu, point to Show/Hide, and click Navigation Toolbar.
